So I had my pre-departure meeting earlier today and there were two students who had been brought in to tell us about their experiences abroad. One of them was Jenna, who had gone to London for a summer internship and Mike who had gone to China to study for a year. They were really funny and helpful with all the questions everyone seemed to have and it was really interesting to hear their perspectives on everything.
Our advisors had a box of these little document organizers that they handed out to some of us that asked questions (I, of course, lover of free things, asked a question and got one!) A lot of people were going to Ireland (I was the only one in the room going to France :( aww) but it was a really "chill" atmosphere where we just all talked as friends and shared what we would do in case of any situations, such as taking public transportation in other countries and what to do to beware of pick pockets.
Jenna even told me that she wore a special belt around her stomach under her shirt to keep her stuff safe! It was funny because she said she had to get one of her friends to shield her while she took some money out.
But this meeting just made it all the more exciting to start preparing myself for being in a different country. France, here I come!
